ADA Space, working with the state-backed Zhejiang Lab, is building the Three-Body Computing Constellation — satellites that each carry an onboard AI model and process Earth-observation data in orbit rather than downlinking it raw, linked by laser inter-satellite connections and cooled passively. The first 12 satellites launched on a Long March 2D on 14 May 2025, delivering a combined 5 peta-operations per second. The declared plan runs to roughly 2,800 satellites.
Ecosystem functionChina's flagship orbital compute programme and the largest AI compute cluster actually operating in orbit anywhere, built inside a state architecture rather than a venture one.
