Alibaba Cloud rents compute capacity from Alibaba’s own cloud infrastructure across China and overseas regions. It offers GPU instance families and elastic GPU services for training, inference, and enterprise AI workloads. Its wholly-owned semiconductor arm T-Head (PingTouGe) designs the custom silicon behind this infrastructure, including the Yitian 710 server CPU, the Hanguang inference ASIC and the Zhenwu AI processors, which received Chinese government security certification in May 2026.

Ecosystem functionAlibaba Cloud is the largest China-rooted hyperscale compute seller in this layer, with the strongest combination of domestic reach and international cloud distribution.
