Kepler operates a laser-linked optical relay constellation that also hosts onboard edge-computing hardware, functioning as shared orbital infrastructure that tenants including Axiom Space and Sophia Space fly their payloads on. Satellites are solar powered and passively cooled. It had ten operational relay satellites in orbit as of January 2026, carried the first two Axiom orbital data-center nodes to orbit, and sells access to what it describes as the largest orbital compute cluster currently flying.

Ecosystem functionThe landlord of orbital compute — it hosts other people's payloads and moves their data, which makes it the closest thing this category has to a neutral platform.
